Astros Minor League Recap: September 15th, 2021

Another day of minor league baseball is in the books and you can see all the Astros affiliates results below.

AAA: Sugar Land Skeeters (66-48) OFF


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (52-63) won 4-0 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the first inning on a Julks RBI double. In the 3rd, Arias connected on a solo HR and Schreiber added a 2 run HR. Lawson started for the Hooks and dominated tossing 8 scoreless innings. Hernandez tossed a scoreless 9th inning to close it out.

Note: Schreiber is hitting .297 with 17 HR this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (52-60) won 10-1 (BOX SCORE)

Whitcomb put the Tourists on the board in the first inning with a solo HR. Robaina got the start and went 5 innings allowing 1 unearned run and striking out 6. Abreu added a 2 run HR in the 4th to extend the lead. Whitcomb stayed hot in the 7th connecting on a 2 run double. The Tourists blew it open even more in the 8th scoring 4 runs on a Diaz 2 run HR, Abreu RBI triple and Santana sac fly. Stubbs added a solo HR in the 9th. Holcomb tossed 3 scoreless in relief and West closed it out with a scoreless 9th.

Note: Whitcomb is hitting .325 with 5 2B, 3 HR, 11 RBI in September.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (52-64) lost 9-2 (BOX SCORE)

Brown started for the Woodpeckers and went 3.2 innings allowing 3 runs. The Woodpeckers picked up a run in the 3rd on a solo HR and in the 4th on a Rodriguez RBI groundout. Rodriguez pitched in relief and allowed 3 runs in 0.2 innings. The Mudcats would add a few more runs as the Woodpeckers lost 9-2.

Note: Mascai has 7 HR in Low-A this season.
