Another night of Astros minor league play is in the books. See how the prospects performed last night.

AAA: Fresno Grizzlies (38-39) OFF

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (51-25) OFF

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (38-38) won 6-2 (BOX SCORE)

Dykxhoorn was on the mound for the Jethawks and he had one of his best outings of the season. He went 8 innings giving up 2 runs with 4 strikeouts. Jason Martin got the scoring started for Lancaster with a 2 run HR in the 4th inning, his 13th HR of the season. In the 6th they would get another 3 runs on a Ritchie 2 run double and a Ballard RBI double. Ballard added an RBI single in the 8th to cap off the scoring. Comer closed the game with a scoreless 9th.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (34-42) won 4-2 (BOX SCORE)

Hernandez got the start in this one and pitched well allowing just 2 runs, 1 earned, over 7 innings of work. He constantly got out of trouble giving up 9 hits on the night. Quad Cities got on the board with a Michelena RBI single in the 2nd inning. Hermelyn added an RBI single in the 3rd inning to give them the lead. Trompiz had an RBI double in the 6th inning and Goedert had an RBI double in the 8th. Whitt closed the game with two scoreless innings.

A-: Tri-City ValleyCats (5-8) played a doubleheader

GAME 1 – lost 8-5 (BOX SCORE)

Adcock got the start and only threw two pitches giving up two hits. Hopefully it wasn’t an injury. DeGoti hit a 2 run single in the bottom of the 2nd to get the scoring started for Tri-City. Benedetti added an RBI single in the 3rd. In the 4th inning, Wrenn hit a solo HR his 4th of the season setting up Tri-City with a lead. Unfortunately the bullpen gave up 6 more runs. Wrenn added another solo HR in the bottom of the 7th but it wasn’t enough.

  • Kevin Hill, RHP: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

GAME 2 – lost 7-3 (BOX SCORE)

This game started out pretty bad with Williamsport scoring 2 runs in each of the first 3 innings off of Nicely. Nicely would exit after allowing 6 runs in 3 innings. Ayarza put Tri-City on the board with an RBI groundout and Rogers scoring on an error.
